Va Tech's lookin pretty good right about now.

He can't go and play baseball at Tech. He's already been drafted.

the rulings on that is if a player gets drafted and plays two years or less then they can go back to either division 2, 3, or NAIA. The player then has to take a mandatory red shirt at said school, completing 24 hours I believe before he can participate in baseball again, at that time he will get 2 years of elgibility.

However if a player plays minor league baseball, he can then play any sport besides baseball he chooses and be elgibile immediately upon successful registration.

UVA-Wise bound sounds to me. Chad is a very good player but I never did really think he would do any better than he did down in Burlington. I don't know if they have the same coach still but Jason Nixon missed out on alot of playing time there becasue the coach only played his minority players.

listen partner, when a player is playing professionally, the "coach" of that team doesn't have a real say so in who plays. the big whigs at the top of the organization determines who is playing almost every night. often, the money they signed for is the key factor. by the way, coaches usually change yearly at the lower levels of the minor leagues. nixon, longworth, and any other player who signs a pro contract gets every opportunity to prove their value. the more money you get, the more opportunities they'll have.

You need to calm down and not get no attitude when you are talkin to me. I was not downing the whole system just passing along some of what I was told. I could really care less what happens at that level of ball, if they are getting played because they signed a bigger deal then they still need to produce and have the stats or they will be sitting on their arse while the ones making the plays are on the field. If the amount you get paid is the factor in winning and playing then the Yankees should never even have a close game and should blow everyone out by 20 runs.

hold on there beasty man, i wasn't implying anything towards you personally. i'm just saying that players in pro baseball get their shot. it's up to them to do what they can. the one's with the larger signing bonuses get more opportunity to prove themselves. the organization has more invested in a first round pick as opposed to a 20th round pick. if i'm not mistaken, nixon signed as a free agent and longworth was an 11th or 12th round pick.
